What is BLK|HLO
BLK|HLO is a Non-Profit Fundraising Organization that seeks to serve in 5 avenues of charity by partnering with other local, national and international organizations. These 5 avenues are: Culture & Arts, Health, Education, Human Services, and Environment. We specialize in creative fundraising events that are tailored for each cause. BLK|HLO will create opportunities for the people, serve those in need, provide creative ways for you to give back, and inspire the world to Be Light, Kindness, Hope, and Love Overall.
BLK|HLO was founded by Angel Chanice-Nykole, in 2016. Angel has a heart to give and to heal. Even when she was in grade school, she always made sure she had more than enough so she could share with others. She likes to find creative ways to participate in random acts of kindness, such as her "Lunch On Me" series on social media. Now she's doing it on a much larger scale. She wears many hats, but Philanthropy is what she was called to do. She plans to give back in areas that are important to her and have impacted her world. "The world can be a dark place, but with your love and kindness, we can bring the light." -Angel.
The Date Auction
How It Works
Win A Date
A date auction works much like an art auction, or silent auction that is done at Galas and other charity events. This auction will be done primarily online. There will be 3 ladies, and 3 gentlemen presented as your dates. Take a look at their profiles and choose which date you would like to bid on. Fill out the form with your information and the amount of your bid. Bidding will take place online from February 1 - February 8. You can bid as many times as you would like during this time frame. There will be a link to a page that will show you the highest bid for each date participant, that will be updated everyday. Your goal is to outbid everyone else to win the date. Once you've won, you can go out on a date sponsored by a few Black-owned restaurants here in Birmingham, or you can create your own night on the town. Who knows, you may form a new friendship or even find the love of your life!
ALL funds will be donated to the Be A Blessing Birmingham Organization, at the end of the auction. You have the option to donate your bid even if you don't win the date, or you can just donate an amount to the organization without bidding. This is a fun creative way to give back. The goal is to raise funds for an organization that provides much needed services and volunteer help for the homeless in the city of Birmingham. All donations are much appreciated.
Be A Blessing Birmingham
Be a Blessing Birmingham is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in Alabama. For more than two years, under the leadership of Executive Director Erica “Star” Robbins, volunteers have collected donations of hygiene items and clothing and distributed them to homeless citizens in downtown Birmingham.
The group has focused on distributing items that are necessary to maintain sanitation and cleanliness, as this need is not always met through other channels. People who are living on the street while trying to find and keep a job or just stay basically clean and healthy have a constant need for hygiene products and other small necessities. The monthly distributions help meet this need.

My name is Christina, I'm 31. I'm a development manager for a non-profit organization. I love spending time with friends, a long and grueling game of Phase 10, Taboo or Monopoly, good eats, thrift shopping, traveling, a good concert, a touching movie, relaxing at home with a glass of cheap wine, and listening to pod casts. I'm passionate about education, and justice reform. I may not be that interesting, but I'll let you be the judge.

I'm Angel. You may know me through social media as Chanice Nykole. I'm a 30 year old Birmingham native that works as an event manager for a non-profit organization. I'm also a singer, cook, health coach, and aspiring model. I enjoy live music, good food and entertainment, and making meaningful connections with other people. Intros to concerts are my favorite thing to witness. Some of my favorite artists are Lianne La Havas, Tank And The Bangas, and of course Beyonce. I like going to the movies, too. Sometimes I go just for the popcorn. We can share, and I'll put two Peach Faygos in my purse. If you can make me laugh, you're a good one.
Angel Chanice-Nykole
Brandon L. Wolfe, Ph.D. is 37 years old, and a native of Birmingham, AL, who was raised around the country as a military brat. He currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Campus and Community Engagement in the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. When he's not working, Brandon spends his time reading, working out, cooking, gaming , volunteering, traveling, attending concerts, watching movies and hanging with friends. Brand spent nearly his whole childhood desiring to be a comedian, archaeologist, paleontologist and a psychologist all at the same time, until he saw Spike Lee's Malcolm X. From that moment forward, his life has been dedicated to education, social justice and community building.
Brandon L. Wolfe, Ph.D.
My name is Eric Alvin, I'm a California native. Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, CA. and came to the south (Huntsville) for Undergrad. I'm 33 years old, a Gemini, and I am currently a Medical Compliance Manager for a private medical facility in Homewood, AL. I enjoy music of all kinds. I can play the guitar and I'm also an aspiring Chef. My goal is to be working for myself by the end of the year, owning and operating my own meal prep and small party catering business.
Eric Alvin
Darien is a 26 year old graduate of University of North Alabama with a degree in Radio - TV, and does freelance journalism. He's a personal trainer that also works as a sports news anchor, and radio personality. He's an all around creative that enjoys photography, playing drums, making music, and playing sports. You can catch him working out with Hot 107.7 for 107 Days to Better Health.
